From buyer, December 2003: "What a relief to get an honest, powerful female voice new to the music scene. Randi Joy's first CD (and let us hope is the first of many) offers a fresh sound. It has avoided the pitfall that many artists fall into when they enter the studio for the first time and does not have a lot of over production. The songs are descriptive, with a lot of personal angst coming across without being at all depressing. I found myself humming them after the first listening, which make it a very accessible set of music. Most of the songs are written by Randi Joy herself, with only one cover of an Al Stewart song. The Stewart song, "Where are they now", has a haunting melody that could well be said to improve on the original - it certainly made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. My only complaint is that, living in London, I am unlikely to hear her and the band play live in concert. Lets hope some kind soul can send me a bootleg ....!!!???"

Email reviews of "Where Are They Now" demo, 1997:

"Her version, I would say, definitely has more edge. While Al's version is more melancholy, I think that Randi's has more rage."

"IMHO *all* the Randi Joy/Julie Ellen/Symphony tracks are as good as the originals... and in the case of "Where Are They Now", *better*. You really make me wish we'd done this on CD so I wouldn't have to keep rewinding to listen to 'em again."
